Edgerly- Florence Clement, 83, passed away in her home in Edgerly, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

She was born in Roberts Cove, Louisiana on August 3, 1933. Florence never met a stranger. She loved to laugh and had the gift of hospitality. She drove a school bus for Calcasieu Parish for twenty years and previously worked in Vinton High School cafeteria and many years as a waitress at the Cree-mee in Vinton. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly where her love for her Savior was evident.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Gordon Clement of Edgerly; her children, Dianne Fontenot and husband, Craig of Edgerly, Wendell Clement and wife, Cheryl of Carlyss, Nancy Bourque and husband, Greg of Grand Lake, David Clement and wife, Melodie of Vinton, and Mona Gibbs and husband, Shannon of LaPorte, Texas; eleven grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jimmy Finn; her son, Gordon Dwayne Clement; and her siblings, Leroy Murphy, Everett Murphy, Edna Allen, Albert Murphy, and Lula Robin.

Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 7, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Russell Beard will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
