The Kansas City Chiefs released Jamaal Charles in February, but team chairman Clark Hunt would not rule out reuniting the running back from Port Arthur with the team in a Monday article in the Kansas City Star.

Hunt told the newspaper the Chiefs will honor Charles when the time is right, but also said the 2005 Memorial graduate could return to the team as a player one day.

“You know, the door is never closed on any player, just because a decision was made this year to move on,” Hunt told the Stark. “You know, circumstances change, and it would be misleadikng for me to say ‘No, we would never have that player or this player back,’ because we’ve all seen it happen.”
