“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it,” Proverbs 22:6

The event starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 at the Memorial High School auditorium, 3501 Staff Sergeant Lucian Adams Dr. in Port Arthur. Admission is free.

The biblical text for Youth Explosion, Going through the Fire, is Daniel 3:17: “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”

This is the first-ever event of this kind for Titans for Christ. Various students will be ministering and performing, according to Dwight Wagner, MHS assistant principal and group sponsor.

Joseph Hines-Brooks, president of Titans for Christ, will be the keynote speaker. There will be mime dancing, and a presentation from a Christian rap artist and refreshments.

“Various students will give testimonials of challenges in their lives and how they have come through by faith in God. We’ll have students doing music,” he said. “We may have special guests too, the Titans for Christ group from Tyrrell Elementary.”

Wagner said Hines-Brooks made the suggestion for hosting the event and the Titans for Christ ran with the idea.

“Everybody is invited. For children on up,” Wagner said. “It’s a G-Rated event. It will be fun and a good time to celebrate Jesus.”

He added that all donations are greatly appreciated.
