John Andrew Valma, 53, of Nederland passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born on October 27, 1963 to Margarite Franklin Valma and Jesse V. Valma inPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania. John was a lifelong resident of the area and worked as a floral designer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his two sisters, Jami DeLaRosa and husband, Juan of Port Arthur,

Geraldine Valma of Franklin, Louisiana, four brothers, Samuel Valma and wife, Lisa of Sweeney, Texas, Jesse Valma and wife, Linda of Houston, Texas, Charles Valma and wife, Maggie of Houston, Texas and Roger Valma of Franklin, Louisiana along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Celebration of John’s life will be at 5:00 PMFriday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Director
