NEDERLAND — Melancon’s Funeral Home looks like a brand new facility after it has been remodeled.

The business held a ribbon cutting and an open house with the Nederland and Port Neches Chambers of Commerce on Wednesday to celebrate the reopening.

Director Craig Melancon said they finished remodeling in October. He said the interior now has brighter colors and it’s not as dark.

He added that Melancon’s has been in the chamber for many years and he encouraged others to join.

“We’re proud and happy of this day. The chamber has supported us and we thank the public for coming out,” Melancon said.

Melancon’s was formerly known as Heritage Funeral Home on Avenue H. The name was changed in 2010.
