Theodore “Ted” Allen Primeaux

Theodore “Ted” Allen Primeaux was born February 20, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Francis M. and Maude Boutte Primeaux. He died January 27, 2017 at his home on Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas.

Ted graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1948 and earned a BBA in 1952 from The University of Texas. Upon completion of service in 1954 as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, he returned to Port Arthur and in 1960 opened Ted’s Record Shop. After closing his business in 1996 he went on to work for Charles S. Nacol Jewelry in the Jefferson City Shopping Center. In 2003 Ted and Margie retired to their home on Lake Sam Rayburn.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Margaret Nelson Primeaux; two children, Amy Primeaux of Houston, Texas and First Sergeant (Ret.) Andrew N. Primeaux and wife Julie of Menominee, MI; brother, Micka C. Primeaux and wife Nancy of Kerrville, Texas; and many other family members and friends.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Francis M. Primeaux and wife Eva “Pete” Primeaux and mother Maude Boutte Griffith; brother, Mervin F. Primeaux; and sister, Allah Primeaux McClure.

A memorial mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017, at St. Raymond Catholic Church, ¼ mile north of US Hwy 255 on FM 1007, Sam Rayburn, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Raymond Catholic Church (Mailing address: 2898 US Hwy 190W, Jasper, TX 75951, designate to landscaping project), Jasper Shares Food Pantry (P.O. Box 1304, Jasper, TX 75951) or a charity of your choice.
