INDIANS HANG ON TO BEAT ROBINSON IN SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

BRENHAM — A four-run second inning was all Port Neches-Groves needed to hold off Robinson 4-3 in the Brenham Cubettes Lead-Off Classic on Thursday.

The Indians (2-0) took the win despite being outhit 7-2. Each team committed an error.

Britni Hunt struck out four and walked four in the win. Kasidee Sartin drove in two runs and doubled in the second. She also scored a run.

Alexis LaBure went 1 for 2, and Brooke Smith stole a base, scored a run and walked twice.

PNG earned its first win on Tuesday, beating Orangefield 12-2 behind LaBure’s 11 strikeouts and three walks in the circle. The Indians had three triples and two doubles in the win.
