Mary Ann Thomas

Mary Ann Thomas, 81, of Port Arthur passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  She accepted Christ at an early age at Rock Island Baptist Church.  Mary was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a 1955 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, where she was a cheerleader.  She was secretary of the Madonna’s Social & Civic Club and retired in 1990 from Laborers Local #853.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Bertha Allen and her brother Abraham Allen, Jr.

She leaves to treasure her memories her loving children, four daughters Patricia Foster (Fredrick), Linda Gail Thomas (Stevie), Kathy Prevost (Kelvin), Veronica Thomas (Michael); one son, Carl Thomas (Joanna); four siblings, Lorena Green, Elvira White (Robert), Carolyn Pickney (Bobby) and Harold “Pluck” Allen (Martha); one godchild, Jacqueline Ward; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; special friends, Ms. Ruby and Rosina Viltz; special cousin, Beverly Sostand, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Rock Island Baptist Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
