James W. “Skipper” McGuffin, 65, of Nederland, Texas died Monday, February 13, 2017 at his residence.

Skipper was born October 31, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Robert McGuffin and Loretta Strother McGuffin.  He was a thirty year resident of this area and a Railroad Inspector with Trinity Industries.  He was also a US Army Veteran.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with a graveside service to follow at 3:30 p.m. at French Cemetery in Effie, Louisiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at the funeral home.

Skipper was preceded in death by his wife, Velena Kelone McGuffin.
