JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 29-year-old Lumberton man was struck by a vehicle and killed while trying to cross Texas 347 Tuesday night.

A Ford pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old Lumberton man was traveling north and the pedestrian was attempting to cross the northbound traffic lanes when he was struck at about 7:15 p.m., according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The name of the 29-year-old victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
