Frances Marie Girolamo, 89, of Groves passed away onMonday, February 13, 2017 at Community Retirement Home in Port Arthur.

Marie was the last surviving child of Jennie (Ienna) and Nicholas D. Girolamo. She was born in Port Arthur on May, 23, 1927 and she had lived in Groves since 1960. Marie was a beautician for many years; she was owner and operator of Modern Beauty Salon in Port Arthur. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Marie was a loving person who will be missed dearly by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joel, Fred and Pete Girolamo; sisters, Carrie Girolamo and Kathryn Leocadi.

Marie is survived by her niece, Arlene Wills and husband, Tommy of Nederland; nephew, Sam Girolamo and wife, Debbie of Groves; great nieces, Serena Girolamo, Jennie Wills and Dylan Tompkins; great nephew, Thomas Wills and Nicole Guidry; great-great nephew, Samuel Hedrick.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. J. C. Coon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Honoring Marie as pallbearers will be Tommy Wills, Thomas Wills and Dylan Tompkins.
