“They duct taped Hawkins and her 7-year-old daughter, took pictures of them and them locked themselves in the truck of a vehicle,” according to a press release from Beaumont Police Department.

The women reported the incident to Beaumont Police. Numerous officers, dispatchers and others conducted a lengthy search. Hawkins and her daughter w relocated on Potter Street in Beaumont and detectives took statements from all parties involved.

Detectives believe they found evidence that proved the kidnapping was staged and the women later told a different story.

“They staged the incident and sent pictures of themselves duct taped to Hawkins’ boyfriend in an attempt to try and explain missing money,” BPD said.

Detectives reported the incident to Child Protective Services and told them the mother involved her 7-year-old child in the incident.
