Reva Gernanda McArthur Lewis entered Heaven’s gates on Sunday, January 22, 2017. She was born in Montrose, Arkansas to Reverend John and Hazel McArthur on October 9, 1943.

She graduated from Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1965 and began her career in education as did her mother before her.

Reva married her husband, John Lewis, Jr. in 1988 and moved to Port Arthur, Texas where she retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District as a Student Counselor. She had an unlimited love of animals and regardless of her physical ailments she always enjoyed long walks with her dogs, Joy and Miley. She cherished sharing good food and socializing, enjoyed laughter with those she held dear, and had a smile that would light up a room. Reva was a very humble, meek and unpretentious person. She was always willing to serve others without complaint.
