Jules Taylor, Jr.

Jules Taylor, Jr. was born January 28, 1946 in Cankton, Louisiana, to Jules Taylor Sr. and Mary Edna Etienne Taylor.  He was the youngest son of this union.  Jules came to Christ at an early age at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He transferred his membership to St. John Catholic Church where he served as a Knight of St. Peter Claver for over 25 years.  Jules Taylor Jr. later joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and served faithfully until moving to Killeen, Texas to be with his daughter in 2004.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen, Texas.

Jules was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Jessie Taylor, Sr., Merlin Taylor, Joseph Taylor, John Taylor and Jessie Taylor, Jr.; two sisters, Marie Paul and Juanita Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Ann Hilstock Taylor of Humble, TX; one daughter, Ronnetta Taylor West (James) of Killeen, TX; one son, Jules Taylor III of Port Arthur, TX; two adopted sons/grandsons, Jules Taylor V, Christopher J. Taylor of Humble, TX; fifteen grandchildren, Mira Nicole Brooks (Daurence) of Groves, TX, Janaya West, Julia West and Jamie West of Killeen, TX, Jules Taylor IV of Houston, TX, Jamarcus Taylor and Kaleb Taylor of Port Arthur, TX, ShaTorri Taylor of Humble, TX; two brothers, Dale Taylor, Sr. (Jan) of Houston, TX and Earnest Taylor (Sara) of Gretna, LA; two sisters, Beverly Senett (Preston Sr.) of Beaumont, TX and Jean Ella Harrison of Victorville, CA; extended family, Ellen Taylor of Port Arthur, TX and Karen Taylor Smith of San Diego, CA; two adopted sisters, Barbara Taylor Williams (Joe), Angela Taylor (Westley) of Port Arthur, TX, Reginald Taylor (Amelia) of Houston, TX, Terry Taylor (Stephanie), Rickie Taylor (Dorothy) of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church, 549 West Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Entombment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
