A Port Arthur man is dead after becoming trapped under a vehicle he was working on on Friday.

Port Arthur Police responded to a call of an accident shortly before 10 a.m. in the 1100 block of Eighth Avenue. The found the victim appeared to have been working on a vehicle and became trapped underneath, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Justice of the Peace Marc DeRouen was contacted and requested an autopsy be done on the deceased. The man’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
