Incumbent files for at-large seat

At-Large Position 8 on the Port Arthur City Council is now a contested race.
Incumbent Kaprina Richardson Frank filed on Monday for the May 6 General Election. She will face newcomer Kevin Christopher who also filed.
For the remaining races, Harold Doucet, former councilman and mayoral candidate filed to run in District 4.
Mark Blanton, retired Port Arthur Police chief, filed to run for the District 3 council seat on last week. Meanwhile, incumbent District 3 Councilman Morris Albright III, filed to run in At-Large Position 7 against incumbent Charlotte Moses, who also filed last week to run.
Incumbent Raymond Scott Jr. filed to run for District 1 on Thursday.
Tiffany Hamilton, incumbent District 2 councilwoman, filed to run on Wednesday.
Filing for a spot in the May 6 city and school board elections ballots starts Jan. 18 and ends Feb. 17.
Early voting is from April 24 to May 2. Runoff Election Day is July 1 if applicable.
