Two more file for PA Council election

Two more names popped up on Friday for filings in the May 6 General Election for the Port Arthur City Council.

Harold Doucet, former councilman and mayoral candidate filed to run in District 4. Newcomer Kevin Christopher also filed to run in the At-Large Position 8 race.

Mark Blanton, retired Port Arthur Police chief, filed to run for the District 3 council seat on Thursday. Meanwhile, incumbent District 3 councilman, Morris Albright III, filed to run in At-Large Position 7 against incumbent Charlotte Moses who filed Wednesday to run.

Incumbent Raymond Scott Jr. filed to run for District 1 on Thursday.

Tiffany Hamilton, incumbent District 2 councilwoman, filed to run on Wednesday.

Filing for a spot in the May 6 city and school board elections ballots starts Jan. 18 and ends Feb. 17.

Early voting is from April 24 to May 2. Runoff Election Day is July 1 if applicable.
