A shakeup in PA Council election filings

There were some surprises in the second day of filing for the Port Arthur City Council election.
Mark Blanton, retired Port Arthur Police chief, filed to run for the District 3 council seat. Meanwhile, incumbent District 3 councilman, Morris Albright III, filed to run in At-Large Position 7 against incumbent Charlotte Moses who filed Wednesday to run.
Incumbent Raymond Scott Jr. filed to run for District 1 on Thursday.
Tiffany Hamilton, incumbent District 2 councilwoman, filed to run on Wednesday.
Other seats up for the May 6 General Election include District 4 and At-Large Position 8.
Filing for a spot in the May 6 city and school board elections ballots starts Jan. 18 and ends Feb. 17.
Early voting is from April 24 to May 2. Runoff Election Day is July 1 if applicable.
