Robert Wayne Depew, 74, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home.

He was born on January 18, 1942 to Ruth Fruge’ Depew and Lamkin Depew in Lafayette, Louisiana. Robert was a resident of Port Arthur for over 25 years. He

He retired as a self-employed carpet layer and worked at the Carpet Place on Gulfway Drive with over 20 years of service. Robert loved the outdoors, raising honey-bees. He was affiliated with World of Life Church in Groves.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Anthony Wayne Depew of Port Arthur, Robert Keith Depew of Hawaii and mother of their children, Barbara Hughes Algarin of Lufkin, four grandchildren, Nadine Depew, Thomas Depew, Vincent Wallace and Nicole Depew.

He is also survived by his sister, Linda Young and husband, Jake of Orange, his two brothers, Harvey Depew of Groves, Jerry Depew and wife, Dorothy of Orange along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM till the service time. Service to honor Robert’s life will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
