GROVES — Groves Police are searching for a man who robbed a check cashing business on Friday.

Police got the call of the strong arm robbery around 1:15 p.m. at A1 Financial, 6101 Gulfway Drive, Groves City Marshal Norman Reynolds Jr. said.

The owner of the business was returning to his office and as he stepped out of his vehicle he was approached by the suspect. There was a brief struggle for a money bag the victim was holding. The suspect took the bag and ran back to a car, described as a newer model red Ford Fusion with paper tags that was being driven by another person.

No injures were reported.

The suspect left with thousands of dollars in cash.

He is described as a tall, thin black man in his late teens to early 20’s.
