COURON, HARRINGTON ON ACADEMIC ALL-SLC

Nederland senior Koby Couron and classmate Kade Harrington were named to the Academic All-Southland Conference football team on Monday.

Those named to the team must possess a grade-point average of better than 3.0, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition to qualify.

Harrington had a 3.06 in finance and Couron sported a 3.67 in mechanical engineering.

Harrington rushed for a team-high 636 yards on 124 carries and four touchdowns before his collegiate career ended with a foot injury. Couron started 13 times in his four-year LU career (11 as a senior) and had 25 tackles (one sack) as a defensive lineman.
