BPD find 71 bottles of “syrup” during traffic stop

BEAUMONT — A traffic stop led to the discovery of 71-pint bottles of Promethazine, on Thursday afternoon.
Beaumont Police Department’s Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop shortly before 3 p.m. Jan. 5 on Interstate 10 eastbound near mile marker 848.
That’s when they found the Promethazine, whose common street name is “syrup” or lean,” according to a press release from BPD.
The driver, Arrick Harris, 42, of Jackson, Miss. was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
