Mrs. Annie L. Thomas

Mrs. Annie L. Thomas, 89, of Port Arthur passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Austin, Texas. She was born on April 26, 1927 to the late Sarah and Isaac Stagg, Sr. in Opelousas, Louisiana. Annie was a faithful member of Marion Anderson Church of Christ (now Thomas Blvd.) and was a member of the Ladies Bible Class, and after moving to Baytown, TX placed her membership at Goose Creek Church of Christ.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM with services beginning at 11:00 AM at the Thomas Blvd. Church of Christ with Bro. Frank Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents Sarah and Isaac Stagg, Sr.; husband Archie Thomas, Sr.; sons Lawrence A. Thomas and Archie Thomas, Jr.; sisters Shirley Francis, Georgia Baker, Rosa Roy, Carrie Sweet, and Josephine Moore; brothers Eull Stagg, Sr., Earl Stagg, Ervin Stagg, Paul Stagg, and Isaac Stagg, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory children Cecil A. Thomas (Pamela) of Port Arthur, Mack R. Thomas (Robin) of Austin, Phillip W. Thomas (Sonia) of Port Arthur, Julie A. Moore (Calvin) of Baytown, Anthony C. Thomas (Harriet) of Moss Bluff, LA, Debbie K. Owens (Shawn) of Corpus Christi, TX; sisters Octavia Brown of Port Arthur, and Iffy Mae St. Andrews of Humble, TX. Also mourning her passing are 25 grandkids, 17 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A special thank you to all Physicians and medical staff as well as Harbor Hospice of Baytown and Austin for caring for our mother.
