Man shot in leg during fight

Officers with the Port Arthur Police Department think a physical attack may have led to a man getting shot in the leg.
An officer with the PAPD went to Christus St. Mary’s Hospital, 3600 Gates Blvd. in Port Arthur at 7:14 p.m. on Tuesday night about a gunshot victim, according to a PAPD news release.
The officer was told a man was at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He learned the shooting took place at the Citgo gas station at 5266 Gulfway Dr.
The officer went to the scene of the crime. The officer found out that the victim and the suspect were in a disturbance that lead to a fight.
During the fight the suspect grabbed a weapon and shot the victim.
The victim was sent to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
