Senior citizen confronts burglars, suffers minor injuries

A senior citizen suffered minor injuries after confronting three juveniles burglarizing her home shortly before noon on Monday and police are searching for the suspects.

Officers were called to the 3300 block of 27th Street where they met with the 68-year-old victim. She said she had been away from her home for a portion of the morning and when she returned home she noticed her front door was open, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

She walked inside and found three juveniles inside who ran when they saw her. She followed them outside when one of them knocked her to the ground causing a minor injury. This suspect also took her cell phone.

Officers searched the area but did not locate them.

The suspects are described as three black males with light complexion. One wore a black hoodie with a green trim and one wore a gray hoodie. All had short hair.

Approximate heights: 5-foot to 5-foot 2 inches, 5-foot 7-inches and 5-foot 10 inches to 5-foot 11 inches.
