Frank Thomas, Sr., 81, of Port Arthur, Texas departed this life on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Park Manor nursing home in, Missouri City, TX.

Frank was born June 4, 1935 in Simmesport, Louisiana to Francis Guice and Andrew Thomas, Sr. At an early age, he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. As a young man, he joined the United States Navy, where he served his country faithfully. After being honorably discharged, he met and married his wife of 57 years, Edna and their union was blessed with 10 children. He worked as a Merchant Seaman for 36 years and retired at the age of 62.

He is preceded in death by his father; mother; brother, Andrew Thomas, Jr.; sisters, Ella Eaglin and Catherine Joseph; and stepfather, Arthur Eaglin Sr.

Left behind to cherish his memory are: his loving wife Edna; children, Edith Neveaux (Tyrone), A  Karlie  Dennis (Harvey),  Anthony, Frank Jr., Frankie

Thomas, Steven, Shauneqia Thomas (Jesse), Kerry , Kevin (Tracy), and Tara; sisters, Virginia Wise, Rita Hines (Earl), and Jean Francis – Green; brother, Arthur Eaglin, Jr. (Shelia); 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at New Light Baptist Church, 948 5^th Street, Port Arthur, TX. Viewing begins at 10:00am and funeral services 11:00am. Interment will be 10:15am, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Houston Veteran Cemetery, 10410 Veteran Memorial Drive, Houston, TX. 77038.
