NEDERLAND — The results are in for the second annual Light Up Nederland Contest for homes and businesses and some were shining.

Judging was based on curb appeal and judges looked for unique design and creative use of lights and decorations, storyline or theme, display and placement of decorations, animated objects, etc. and overall presentation.

Kay DeCuir, executive director of the Nederland Economic Development Corporation, said when she was growing up everyone decorated their homes and businesses with Christmas lights and she would like to see that happen again all over Nederland.
