The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has received a number of reports this week about the destruction of inflatable Christmas decorations in the Mid-County area.

Deputy Marcus McLellan said it appears that a group of teenagers are going around to different neighborhoods after dark destroying lawn decorations.

One resident caught the criminal activity on their security cameras. The video footage shows at least three teens involved but was unable to capture their faces.

“These teens are showing a complete lack of respect for other people’s property and respect for the holidays Season,” McLellan said in a press release. “Remember to look out for each other and call 911 immediately if you see someone committing a crime or acting suspicious.”

The sheriff’s office will be making extra patrols through the neighborhoods to help ensure that everyone will be able to enjoy the holiday decorations.
