Thomas H. Etheredge, Jr., 90, of Groves passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016 at his home.

He was born on September 2, 1926 to Madge Addison Etheredge and Thomas H. Etheredge, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Thomas was a lifelong resident of the area.

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1944 and attended Texas A & M University for two years, where he served in the Corp.  Thomas retired from Standard Brass as a pattern maker after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Arthur.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Ruth A. Etheredge of Groves, his son, Paul Etheredge and his wife, Arlene of Lumberton, his daughter, Patricia Miller and husband, Ron of Belton, Texas.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber Dickerson, Allyson Thomas, Erin Hendricks, Catlin Etheredge, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 PMto service time on Wednesday. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.
