BEAUMONT — Lamar senior Mans Berglund is third among European collegiate golfers in the Arnold Palmer Cup rankings that were released Wednesday, putting him in a position to qualify to compete at the Arnold Palmer Cup, set for June 9-11 in Atlanta. The final rankings will be announced in the spring

The top six golfers in the final rankings for both the United States and Europe will be among the 10 individuals to compete in the event. The rankings are based upon Golfstat’s NCAA player rankings, with bonus points awarded for wins and high finishes, with points taken away for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.

Berglund, a native of Vasteras, Sweden, finished in the top 10 in all four events that the Cardinals participated in during the fall season, including capturing the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in October en route to earning Southland Conference Golfer of the Month honors.
