NHS alumnus Arnaud hired as Dynamo assistant

Davy Arnaud, a 1998 Nederland graduate, has been named an assistant for the Houston Dynamo.

Arnaud led the Bulldogs to the state final match his senior year, where Nederland lost to Granbury, 2-1.

He played in the MLS from 2002 to 2015 and immediately left the pitch for an assistant job with D.C. United, where he finished his playing career.

Arnaud, 36, appeared in the eighth-most games for field players in MLS history at 351, tied for ninth with 316 starts and 10th for minutes played at 28,462. He scored 50 goals, added 46 assists and played in 17 playoff games. Arnaud also goes down as the most fouled player in MLS history with 746 fouls.

“I’m extremely excited about this new challenge and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work under (Dynamo head coach) Wilmer (Cabrera),” Arnaud said to houstondynamo.com. “I have always had a great deal of admiration for the Dynamo organization and I’m looking forward to getting started with the club.”
