The city of Port Arthur has identified Allan Ramirez, 34, of Groves, as the victim who died while working inside a tanker last week.
The victim’s father, Wilfredo Ramirez, 58, also of Groves, was injured in the tank as well. His current condition has not been released.
Emergency crews were called around 10 a.m. Nov. 4 to Freeflow Services, 1050 FM 365 near West Port Arthur Road where two people were in a tank at the scene, according to a press release from the city of Port Arthur.
One of the men was taken out of the tank around 11 a.m. by members of the Port Arthur Fire Departments initial responding units and sent by ambulance to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
The PAFD Confined Space Rescue Team recovered the second man several hours later.
The men had been inside the tank cleaning it when another worker noted he had not seen them for while and went to check on them.
