Junior Michelle Batista scored 22 points and made all four of her three-point attempts Friday, leading Bob Hope to a season-opening 49-19 win over Good Samaritan of Fred in Port Arthur.

Elsy Martinez added 11 for Bob Hope, which plays in the Spurger tournament Thursday and next Saturday.

In boys basketball, Port Arthur Memorial’s season opener at Channelview has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. next Saturday.
