Jean “Dusty” Horn

Jean “Dusty” Horn, 85, of Beaumont passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at her residence.
Jean was born in Laurel, Mississippi, on April 6, 1931. She is the daughter of the late John Brewsaw and Chellie Knight Brewsaw. Jean moved to Texas in 1953. She graduated from Port Arthur business college and went to work for Texaco in 1955. She was a loving mother and lady. She was often referred to as “sweet Jean”. She and James were transferred to Los Angeles and lived there for two years. They were relocated back to Dallas and from there they were moved to Alaska and lived there for five years. Jean became an avid fisherman and at one point caught a 54-pound halibut. Then they were off to Lafayette, LA and were there two years. Then they went back to Dallas where James retired from Arco in 1995. They then moved to Beaumont in 2001. A special thanks to Sherry Broussard.
Those left to cherish Jean’s memory are her loving husband of 61 years, James Horn of Beaumont; sister, Johnnie Smith of Nederland and a host of nieces and nephews. Jean is preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Horn; two sisters and one brother.
There will be a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX.
