Alice Mae Taylor

Alice Mae Taylor was born in Lewisburg, Louisiana, on July 25, 1943 to Alvin and Virgis Chavis.  She was the 6th of 7 children.  Alice was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for over 45 years and attended St. James Catholic Church.  For the past 5 years, she resided in Rosenberg, Tx and attended The Fort Bend Church. 

Alice took great pride in caring for her family and others, cooking Louisiana cuisine, dancing to zydeco music and playing BINGO.  She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her daily outings to the Fort Bend Senior Citizen Center. 

Alice leaves cherished memories to her 3 daughters:  Tina Glenn(Robert) of Arlington, Tx, Angela Chapman of Rosenberg, Tx, and Sandra Glenn(Jeremy) of Richmond, Tx; 2 brothers: Ollie Chavis of Carencro, La and Alfred Chavis of Lewisburg, La; 3 sisters: Alvina Green of New Orleans, La, Hilda Ned of Lewisburg, La, and Wilda Taylor(Edward) of Houston, Tx; 7 grandchildren Jevon, Jordyn, Jeremy Jr., Taylor, Jayson, Trey and Bryan, and a host of relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Taylor (2011); her brother Abraham Chavis (2013); her mother Virgis Chavis (2007); and her father, Alvin Chavis (1988)

A Memorial Service honoring her life is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 12 noon at The Fort Bend Church located at 1900 Eldridge, Sugar Land, Tx.
