JANICE TODORA ON BOWLING: Bowlers out in full force this week at Max

Published 8:04 pm Monday, October 10, 2016

All the leagues were up and running this week including the Saturday morning youth league Stars of Tomorrow.

Blaine Seymour took top honors for the youth as he shot games of 179-173- 201 for a 503 set. The ever steady Brandon Bertrand was nearby with games of 191-204-149 for a 544 series.

Let’s get out and support our youth. These young bowlers are the future of bowling. All the encouragement will be greatly appreciated, especially by the youth coaches and the kids themselves.

Now for the big people: Our Senior female bowler of the week came from the Monday night Valero League. Alice Barnes is back to her old tricks as she hammered out games of 230-184-202 for a nice 589 set. Bowling in the Golden Oldies League, Rick Hermsen led all the Senior men bowlers as he tossed games of 258-245-209 for a sweet 712 series.

Valero League also had the top female bowler of the week, RaeAnna Todora, shoot a even 700 series. RaeAnna put together games of 212, 230 and 258 for high league leading series.

Bowling in the Thursday night Energy Country Ford League, “Top Gun” Derek Williams strung together this weeks league leading set with games of 299 204 and 266 for a 769 series. Derek will be mentioned many times this year as he remains one of the Golden Triangle’s top bowlers.

On a special note, Queen Tumblers Brenda Dodson came home with first-place honors in division 4 of the woman state tournament held back in April in San Marcos. Brenda, bowling with a 221 pin handicap, finished with a 762 series. Congratulations to Brenda.

Congrats to all bowlers and good luck this week.
