Roque Ramirez passed away in Groves, TX on Sunday, October 2, 2016.

He was bornAugust 15, 1921 in Torreón, Mexico to Genovevo and Basilia Ramirez.

Roque lived most of his life in Groves, TX. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson HighSchool in 1942 and served in the Army during WWII as a radio operator. He married Teresa Ramirez in1947 and was married for 67 years.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.

Roque was preceded in death by his parents Genovevo and Basilia Ramirez; wife

Theresa Ramirez; and brothers James Ramirez, Frank Ramirez, Luz Ramirez, and Jesse

Ramirez; and sisters Andrea and Lus Ramirez.

He is survived by son Roland Ramirez and wife Barbara; granddaughter Rusti Girolamo and husband Troy; brothers Isabel Ramirez, Carlos Ramirez, Augustine Ramirez, and Felix Ramirez; two great grandsons, and two great-great grandsons along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Roque’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment with full Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
