Richard L. Banks, 54, of Port Arthur passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur, he attended Lincoln High school and was a United States Army veteran.

Richard is preceded in death by his maternal mother Orelia Banks and Joyce Banks; father Wilbert Banks, Sr.; 1 brother, 2 sisters and 3 nephews.

He leaves to cherish his memories six sisters, Lucille Comeaux, Emilie Dourrseau, Mattie Banks, Mary Banks, Vanessa Thomas and Wilma Banks; four brothers, Albert Banks, Carson Banks, Wilbert Banks, Jr. and Wilbert Green; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
