A narrow first-set victory set the course for Port Arthur Memorial on Friday in a three-set home victory over Central.
Memorial won 25-23, 25-22, 25-19. Statistics were unavailable, but the Titans (9-12-1, 1-2) earned their first District 22-5A win of the season. Central fell to 0-3 in 22-5A.
Just down Ninth Avenue in District 23-3A play, Kirbyville beat Bob Hope in four sets. Scores and stats were not available, but the Eagles fell to 13-8 and 1-2 in 23-3A.
