John Howard Fuss

John Howard Fuss, 95, passed away September 14, 2016, in Rock Hill, SC. Born to the late Howard and Olive Louise Fuss, on April 19, 1921, in Boston, Mass. He was preceded by his parents and three siblings: George Fuss, Howard Fuss, and Christine Fuss; and a daughter Pauline Louise Fuss.

He attended the University of Kansas and Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, in Mechanical Engineering.

He served in the US Navy from January 18, 1942 to January 4, 1946, where he was stationed on USS Pennsylvania, USS Orletta, USS APL-11, USS YTB. He was honorably discharged at the end of WW II.

He was an engineer at E. I. Dupont de Nemours in Orange, Texas, from September 1, 1946, until retirement on December 31, 1982.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Betty Fuss, a son Jay Fuss and his wife Ame. He is also survived by his grandsons: Charles Estrada Fuss and his wife Meghan, John Estrada Fuss, and sister Rosie Breda.

A husband, father, grandfather. Beloved by his family. A patriot who loved his Country and the flag he served under.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the United States Navy.
