Ellen Jane Wellburn

Ellen Jane Wellburn, 97, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, September 4, 2016. Jane was born on October 29, 1918, the only child of the late O.B. Worrall and Elizabeth Bell Worrall.
Jane was a longtime member of the PEO Sisterhood, starting in 1954 in the CP Chapter located in Port Arthur, TX. She was recognized as a Golden Girl, after fifty years of membership by the HB Chapter of PEO in Round Rock, TX. She served in many chapter offices throughout her years in PEO. She and her husband were avid members of the Port Arthur Yacht Club and Power Squadron. She was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others of her time and experiences. Jane had many friends in the community and her wittiness, spunk, and zeal for life was admired by all that she met. After the death of her loving husband, she lived the remainder of her life independently in Round Rock, TX.
Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, George B. Wellburn in 2002.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving daughter, Betsy Wellburn Romere and her husband Paul O. Romere of Bayfield, CO; grandchildren, David Romere and his wife Cheryell Romere of Owasso, OK; Steven Romere and his wife Laura Mallon of Tomball, TX; Bill Romere and his wife Terri Romere, of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kendall Romere of Owasso, OK; Meghan and Matthew Romere of Austin, TX; Kaycie Romere of Tomball, TX; and one great-great-grandchild, Paxton Romere of Owasso, OK.
In celebration of her life, friends and family will gather to do what she loved most, enjoy good company, good food, and good friendships on September 17, 2016 at the home of Bill and Terri Romere in Austin, TX beginning at 5:30 p.m.
