Alleged beer thieves indicted

Two men who police say stole several cases of beer then left the scene as an ex-security guard was firing shots killing passenger Shalala Fletcher have been indicted for theft.
Tyrus Germaine Williams, 39, of Beaumont and an unnamed accomplice were indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on Wednesday, Cory Kneeland, chief of intake in the DA’s office, said.
The investigation into the second suspect is ongoing and more information will be released at a later date, he said.
Williams was indicted on five counts of theft.
An indictment is not a final conviction of guilt; it is only a ruling by the grant jury that allows the district attorney’s office to proceed with a criminal case.
