Edna McCord

Edna McCord went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois and celebrated her joyful 99th Birthday on July 8, 2016, with family and friends.

Edna was married thirty-two years to Eugene McCord.  For some years they owned and operated the Bloomington Dairy Queen. Edna was a member of the Bloomington Free Methodist Church.  She shared many of her talents by singing in the church choir and participating in ladies missionary, Sweet Adelines, Red Hats, Bloomington Town and Country Home Extension, Monroe County Fair and Indiana State Fair. Edna volunteered at the Bloomington Hospital Gift Shop and won many awards for preparing her outstanding recipes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene McCord, her parents, Walter Bowman and Sarah Louise Gagnon, beloved grandson, David McCord, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Robert) Johnson, Nederland, Texas, her son, Ronald (Peggy) McCord, Stuart, Florida, her son, Leslie (Barbara) McCord, Bloomington, Indiana, and her sister-in-law, Marie McCord, Oakland City, Indiana. She was proud of her Grandchildren, Kelli(Michael) Jackson, Brentwood Tennessee, Kristi (Blake) Dunkleberger Port Neches, Texas, Matthew McCord and, Katie McCord, Stuart, Florida, Jeffrey McCord and Brian McCord, Bloomington, Indiana. She has eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Sydney, Hayden, Austin and Natalie Jackson and

Brendan, Brooklyn and Brylee Dunkleberger.

A special thanks to her caregivers, Angie Brown, Annie G. Coleman and Rita Williams.
