A portion of South Gulfway Drive has reopened following a train derailment Tuesday morning.
The derailment happened in the 1800 block of South Gulfway Drive by the Valero plant and blocked access to the Sabine Pass area.
Port Arthur Police Department alerted citizens via Blackboard Connect at 9:15 a.m. and the all clear was given shortly before 10 a.m. and the road was reopened.
The message said there were no hazardous materials coming from the train and traffic was diverted from the area while crews worked to fix the problem.
