Vidor motorcyclist dies after striking cow in road

ORANGE COUNTY — A Vidor man is dead after his motorcycle struck a cow in the roadway Wednesday night.
The driver, Robert George Cahill, 48, was driving a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound around 11 p.m. Wednesday on FM 2802 when it struck a black cow, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a press release.
The crash happened about three miles south of Vidor.
Cahill, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Robby Eaves.
The cow also died at the crash scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
