Grace Lorraine Clausen Reeves

Grace Lorraine Clausen Reeves, 98, of Nederland, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born on August 18, 1917, in Port Arthur, to Florence E. Hill Clausen and Henry C. Clausen.

Grace was a former member of Crossroads Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Nederland, where she worked in the nursery. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Grace was the granddaughter of one of the keepers of the Sabine Pass lighthouse and also lived at the Cameron lighthouse as a child. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Bill Reeves and his wife, Mary Catherine, of Georgetown; daughter, Robin Anderson and her husband, Jim, of Lake Charles; granddaughter, Lindsey Reeves of Austin; brother, Charles O’Brien and his wife, Willie Belle, of Nederland; sister, Olive Jo O’Brien of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Floyd Reeves; and brother, Henry V. Clausen.

A gathering of Mrs. Reeves’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A private family committal will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Nederland.
