Sanchez, two Mustangs named All-State

Port Arthur Memorial graduate Ramiro Sanchez added another honor to his high school baseball resume, making the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association’s All-Star/All-State team in Class 6A.

Sanchez recently played in the coaches’ All-Star Game in Round Rock along with Ryan Leckich of Port Neches-Groves. Sanchez batted .426 with a .745 slugging percentage. He finished with three home runs and eight doubles as part of his 24 hits. He also drove in 25 runs, scored 15 and stole four bases.

West Orange-Stark’s Payton Robertson was named to the All-Star/All-State team in 4A. Robertson finished with a .374 batting average, scoring 35 runs and driving in 11 on 34 hits with eight doubles and two home runs.

Robertson’s teammate, junior K.J. Miller, was named to the media All-State team for 4A, according to the THSBCA. Willer led the Mustangs with a.451 hitting average and drove in 19 runs. He smashed a home run and 19 runs.
