More than a week after Wade Phillips was celebrated in the Port Arthur News Homecoming Roast, the Port Neches-Groves graduate and Denver Broncos defensive coordinator had to fight back disappointment in a grave — or engraved — mistake in his Super Bowl championship ring.

ESPN.com reported Monday that the name “Peters” was engraved on Phillips’ ring instead of Phillips. Adam Peters is the assistant director of college scouting, and his name was correctly displayed on his ring, according to the article.

“The Ring Ceremony was great,” Phillips tweeted. “Receiving the Ring was awesome. Seeing that they had the wrong name on my Ring, not so good.”
