Lawrence “Larry” Borel, Jr., 68, of Nederland, died Saturday, June 11, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on July 14, 1947, to Marie Ann Boudreaux Lee and Charles Lawrence Borel, in Port Arthur.

Larry was a mechanic and was very mechanically inclined. He enjoyed hunting and car racing.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Doreen Borel, of Nederland; daughters, Amy Jo Moore and her husband, James, of Groves and Laurie Christina Borel and Amber Huckabay and her husband, Andrew, all of Nederland; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Marie Ann Lee of Port Acres; two brothers; and four sisters.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Borel.

A gathering of Mr. Borel’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
