A Port Arthur man has died after an early morning house fire on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Carlos Rubio, a native of Honduras, according to information from the Port Arthur Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a call of a fire at the rear of a home in the 600 block of Ninth Avenue around 3:20 a.m. June 10. The victim was located inside and taken out of the home and emergency personnel from Acadian Ambulance worked to save his life but were unsuccessful.

The cause of the fire was an unattended pot left on the stove.
